How
to be sure your dream kitchen
doesn't turn out to be a nightmare!
John and Sarah were renovating their
home. Knowing that the kitchen is the
heart of any household, they spent
considerable time planning their
idealistic kitchen. They decided on
various features that they wanted within
their kitchen, based on how much space
they had available. They had saved their
money, and had an idea of materials what
they wanted to use, they were finally
ready.
John and Sarah tried to take care in
selecting a cabinet maker, because they
knew full well that it was the most
important decision in their dream
kitchen. They talked to friends and
associates and spent their weekends
driving around the various showrooms.
Finally they selected ABC Kitchens (not
their real name) who had been building
kitchens in the area for just over four
years.
John liked the look of their display
kitchens and Sarah got the impression
that he understood what they wanted. It
seemed like they were a decent sized
company, with many jobs in progress at
the same time, ABC seemed to have a good
team.
John and Sarah worked with the Kitchen
Designer at ABC and produced the design
they had envisioned. Everything was
moving as well as they had hoped.
Soon after the deposit was paid,
problems began to unfold. Sarah wanted
to know why the installation date for
her kitchen was suddenly going to be 3
weeks longer than she had been told. Why
the designer didn't return her calls
when she wanted to make minor variations
to the plan? During the installation of
the almost paid for kitchen, John
noticed that the kitchen was not as he,
Sarah or the salesman had anticipated.
Drawers were smaller than imagined, the
doors and drawers were out of adjustment
and very "gappy". The sink and tap had a
cheap feel about them. The Plumber and
Electrician did not finish the job on
the day of installation, and John and
Sarah had to wait 2 weeks for the Tiler
to finish.
This was just a small handful of the "niggly"
problems John and Sarah had to deal with
when this should have been an exciting
time. What's more the team at ABC
appeared reluctant to come back and take
care of these problems, making continual
excuses. Remember, most of the kitchen
had already been paid for. Tension and
frustration grew between the two
parties, and in the end, Sarah and John
concluded that they would just have to
learn to live with these annoying
problems.
Having been in the Kitchen game for over
27 years, we've seen the John and Sarah
story played out too many times. In many
cases, quality ends up coming a distant
second to the bottom line.
That's why at Rod's Kitchens we proudly
include our mobile phone numbers so you
can contact us directly if you need to,
we want people to feel that they can
contact someone at any time to dispel
any fears that crop up.
We respect that your time is valuable
and will be on time, every time, so not
to inconvenience you at any stage of the
project.
We respect that a new Kitchen is a
considerable investment of time and
money and something that you don't often
undertake, whilst Rod's Kitchens
installs 12 -15 kitchens each week. We
take the time to ensure that you are
happy with the design, your choice of
materials, and we give you the
opportunity to utilize any, or all of
our highly qualified ancillary trades
people if you wish to. We have no bias
toward any particular product or finish,
so we can give you an honest view of the
features and benefits of each different
finish and recommend a product that will
assist you in achieving the look you
desire within your allocated budget.
Because clients often have trouble
visualizing the final result, our
designers will send you a 3 dimensional
rendition of the proposed kitchen
without putting you under pressure to
come into our showroom and be "sold" on
the concept. This happens before you
have even committed yourselves to using
Rod's Kitchens for the project.
At no time throughout the design process
will you be pressured into signing up
with us, we believe that you will make
the choice to have your Kitchen built by
the company that best demonstrates their
ability to satisfy your needs beyond
your expectations. As a token of the
trust we have with our clients, we ask
for a 10% deposit and no further
payments until the kitchen is installed
even though we are well within our
rights to ask for continual progress
payments throughout the building
process.
Because it is so important to give you
the kitchen you believe you are getting,
our designers do not check measure the
kitchen during the designing process.
This is left to the most technically
skilled staff within our organization
who will sit with you and confirm each
and every item within the kitchen.
Drawer heights and number of shelves
etc. will be discussed when you have had
time to digest and study the plan fully
not when you may be caught up in the
excitement of the design process. You
now also have another point of contact
within our organization.
One of our company directors now takes
over the technical building and quality
control aspect of your kitchen. This
adds a fresh set of eyes to the project
and includes more of the staff in the
building process. Our staff are highly
competitive and everyone wants to have
their name associated with the very best
quality kitchens we produce. Competition
within our organization ensures that we
continue to strive to produce only the
highest quality standard of work.
You will be kept informed of the
installation date from the very start of
the project so you know when your new
kitchen will be finished.
95% of our kitchens are fully installed
in just 1 day, to minimize any
inconvenience to you and your family,
and with a 10 year warranty attached to
each of our kitchens.
But more than that, you're going to save
money. Admittedly we're not the cheapest
in town because we don't want our name
on something that is cheap and nasty.
But for a high quality kitchen, we
definitely have the best prices in town
not because we skimp or cut corners, but
because we have the bulk buy power of
over 700 kitchens per year and we pass
those savings directly on to you, the
customer
We understand what a kitchen means to a
home and to the value of a property and
we look forward to helping you very
soon. We will ensure that your dream
kitchen doesn't turn into a nightmare.
